MALONEY TO VISIT WORLD SCOUT JAMBOREE JULY 31
Rotary International President Mark Daniel Maloney will be attending the 24th World Scout Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in Mount Hope, WV on July 31.
Mark Daniel Maloney, a member of the Rotary Club of Decatur, Alabama, USA, was selected as President of Rotary International for 2019-2020. His presidential theme, logo downloads and Citation brochure may be found here.
“The clubs are where Rotary happens,” says Maloney, an attorney. He aims to support and strengthen clubs at the community level, preserve Rotary’s culture as a service-oriented membership organization, and test new regional approaches for growth.
The 2019 World Scout Jamboree will be held July 22 through August 2, 2019, in the beautiful southern mountains of West Virginia, near Mt. Hope.
Scouts have the opportunity to make lifelong friendships and memories with young people from more than 160 national Scout organizations representing more than 200 nations and territories. Unlike any other youth event, a world Scout Jamboree is a gathering of cultures from around the world for 12 unforgettable days.
Interacters, Rotaractors and Rotarians interested in attending the July 31 event must purchase a World Scout Jamboree visitor pass. Please see https://2019wsj.org/attend/day-visitors/ for more information.
Don’t want to pay the day-use visitor fee? Earn a free pass to the Jamboree by serving as a Jamboree greeter for four hours! Contact Carol McCarthy at [email protected] for details.
While the Interact gathering will be a no charge event, The Rotaract/Rotary gathering will have a fee to help defray the cost of the event. Cost is $10 to cover light refreshments and a souvenir.
